Situation of vaccines in Colombia

 For anyone that lives in Colombia it's not a secret that the process of vaccinating here it's really slow. Many people is going to The Unites States because they think that they will be having Covid-19 before  having his turn in this country and receiving the vaccine. In my personal case, just my two grandmother are vaccinated, but i'm really concerned about my dad, because he suffers of hypertension, so i don't want him to have this virus with that condition. I know that this not only my case, many people in Colombia have the same concernes with their parents or even themselves because other disease like obesity would make this virus more letal.  As we know, worldwide there are 164 countries that also want to reach a high level of immunity for their population. We find many countries where they have been able to reach this level of immunity, such as China, and the United States. The mind and Covid-19: Two monsters in pandemic.

 We can all agree that there are two monsters in this pandemic, a silent one, which is the mind and the mediatic one, which is the physical effects of this disease in our body.  Sadly, the mind and their health its still a topic that is not openly spoken, because there is still a lot of taboo in this subject. There is not a culture where people goes to the psychologist or psychiatrist as part of their routine, difference of the culture of going to a general doctor, not because we are sick, just for control, and i found that incredible, to live in a world were mental health it's not as important as other aspects in medicine.  Due to this pandemic this topic is getting worst, and for me is also one of the biggest challenges of this times. The impact of Covid-19 for a colombian girl.

 I wanted to start this blog telling my direct experience with Covid-19 and finishing how i found this disease affects the entire world and will be affecting for a while, and how this subject will become a part of our life and our conversations in a long time.  More than a year ago, i can say that i was living the best time of my life, i moved to Medellin again because i stopped studying one semester and i came back to Cartagena, my natal city. When i moved to Medellin again, i started to go to the university again, i was really thrilled to see my friends after a long time, i started to go to the gym, i was also studying Portuguese, everything was going well. Suddenly, i hear about some virus that was killing people in China, but i remember thinking "Crazy but thanks God Colombia is pretty far away from that" .
